Job Title: Project Controls Specialist (FTE)

Location: Huston, TX

Must Have Skill (Top 3):

  • Oracle Primavera P6 (Scheduling) and/or Procore (Cost)
  • Cost control experience – Setting up budgets, working cross functionally with Construction Managers – What is the spend/budget for items, critical items, underestimated/over estimated costs, etc.
  • Accounting/Finance background – Not an expert, just able to understand from a budgeting standpoint

Summary:

This position is responsible for all project controls functions including schedule management, risk management, earned value management, cost and change management, document management and contract procurement management on complex, high risk, large-scale, high capitol project(s). This position serves as the project controls management representative to ensure the Project Team's success. This position requires a detailed understanding of project management principles and practices. Manage Project Controls team as needed. Directs overall project management systems implementation in the tracking, forecasting, analysis, and reporting of project costs, schedules, and key performance indicators on assigned projects.

  • Coordinates and provides analysis on project costs, commitments, accruals, trends and changes, and recommends corrective action to the Project Team where necessary.
  • Oversees administration of the Project Controls Process to provide guidance, direction, recommendations, and specialized assistance to project managers for the resolution of complex project control problems and contractual courses of action.
  • Manage the implementation of Document Management procedures and documentation for the Project Team.
  • Manages the proactive identification, evaluation, and monitoring of risk and opportunity in the project management environment, including risk mitigation planning and execution of risk management processes for the project.
  • Manages the Contracts and Procurement systems including Client Contract Administration invoicing, issue of purchase order and subcontract agreements, subcontractor payment distributions, and project accounts payables.
  • May lead the project cost control team.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or similar area of study or lieu of degree required and High School Diploma or GED and four years of relevant work experience required.

Experience:

7 years of relevant work experience in Project Controls, Document Controls, Project Procurement required

Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Strong PC skills to include Microsoft software; automated accounting and cost management systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in the concepts of Project Controls, Cost Engineering, Scheduling, Earned Value Management and Estimating

The Strategic Sourcing Manager (SSM) will report directly into the Project Management Office (PMO) and will provide leadership, tactical day-to-day, and strategic support to WM Renewable Energy (WMRE) and WM Recycling (WMRA) investment projects. The support will specifically be centered on vendor management, contracts negotiation and maintenance, change-order management, and coordinating purchasing activities (such as issuing purchase orders). Contracts will range from commercial agreements for off-take of energy and commodities, to master professional and service agreements related to products and professional services to support the needs of WMRE and WMRA capital-funded construction programs.

  • Participates in the research, development, and design of long-range strategic objectives. Works with other departmental managers in the laying out and planning of potential future operational changes.
  • Participates in and coordinates internal programs, such as communications, vacation schedules, job analysis and evaluation, employee performance reviews, wage administration, etc.
  • Maintains currency with respect to technical and supervisory skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Technology, and 5 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).

Job Title: Business Analyst

Business Analyst

Summary:

In this role you’ll lead requirement gathering and projects within SBS, our National Accounts Sales division. You will act as a liaison between Technology and the with the business on system development and enhancements. Conduct business process analysis, needs assessments and various analysis in effort to align technical solutions with business initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 5+ Experience Integrating APIs• Provides project management, including working with project team to ensure timely accurate deliveries.
  • Develops and support SBS system requirements, enhancements and updates.
  • Delivers clear requirements that meet users’ needs and are which are feasible technically and in compliance with WM internal development standards and practices.
  • Assists the business in creation of strategic roadmaps, as well as driving the deliverables identified an on-going backlog grooming, including development of compelling business cases and ROI models.
